A few weeks ago as we all watched the third devasting storm of September approach Puerto Rico, we learned that Lincoln Derr attorney Maria Ortiz’s fiancé Cecilia Echeandia’s family was in the path of Hurricane Maria. The Lincoln Derr team immediately jumped into action to collect items urgently needed by Cecilia’s family and community.

With more than 85% of the island without electricity, Cecilia’s family and neighbors shared they were in need of solar powered cell phone chargers, headlamps, batteries, and solar radios. Our generous team quickly placed orders for these items and the supplies started pouring in.

Our next obstacle was finding a way to get the items safely to Dorado, Puerto Rico. For weeks it has been nearly impossible to secure reliable transport. We are pleased to report United Parcel Service (UPS) has re-established delivery service to all areas of Puerto Rico at special hurricane-aid rates, and the items are now on their way!

Thank you to all who donated. We can do so much more together. If you would like to make a donation to Rebuild Puerto Rico click HERE.
