Lori R. Keeton
Lori Keeton’s practice consists of a wide variety of civil litigation matters, including municipal law, products liability, personal injury and professional malpractice defense. Ms. Keeton is admitted to the United States District Courts for the Western, Middle and Eastern districts of North Carolina as well as the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. She has been named a “Rising Star” in Products Liability by North Carolina Super Lawyers in 2009, 2011, 2012 and 2013.
Prior to joining Lincoln Derr, Ms. Keeton practiced law with Parker, Poe, Adams & Bernstein where she represented clients in civil litigation matters before federal and state trial and appellate courts and administrative agencies.
Ms. Keeton obtained her Bachelor of Arts, summa cum laude, from Stetson University in Deland, Florida and was awarded membership in Phi Beta Kappa. She earned her law degree with honors from the University of Florida. At the University of Florida, she served as the Notes and Comments Editor for the Florida Law Review and was awarded membership in the Order of the Coif and was recognized for the highest grades in Sales, Women and the Law and Constitutional Law.
Outside of work, Ms. Keeton is dedicated to serving both the local bar and the community at large. Ms. Keeton served as chairperson for the Social and Networking Committee for the Mecklenburg County Bar, chairperson of the Government Liability Practice Group for the North Carolina Association of Defense Attorneys and as a coach for the Mock Court Trial Team at Garinger High School. Ms. Keeton currently serves on the Board of Directors for Justice Initiatives and Selwyn Presbyterian Child Development Center and is a member of the Mecklenburg County Bar Leadership Institute Committee.
