Who are you? My name is Scott Addison. I am a litigator, a member of Lincoln Derr, PLLC, and a family man.
What do you do? I listen, I learn, and I seek to deliver the best possible result to my client every time.
Where did you come from? Born and raised in Dallas, Texas, I came to North Carolina to attend Davidson College. I decided to stay in the Carolinas after falling in love with the area and with the love of my life. I worked in Charlotte, Greenville, and Columbia for a period of time before attending law school at USC. My wife and I are now settled in Charlotte.
How did you get here? A love of learning and a competitive spirit.

Digging Deeper
Business philosophy? Listen to the client’s wishes and deliver the best possible result in a professional manner.
Proudest moment? Watching my daughters develop into caring, compassionate, intelligent, and sharp-witted girls probably brings more pride even than assisting in bringing about a 35-minute defense verdict in a complex three-week trial.
Biggest regret? No regrets.

Best quality in business? My ability to listen and connect with people.
Making it Personal
Family? I am married to a truly amazing woman, Katherine, who makes me a better person, husband, father, and lawyer every day. We have three wonderful and smart girls, Kate, Claire, and Lydia, who keep us on our toes.

My biggest influence is… At this point in my life, my biggest influence is my best friend and wife, who demonstrates a perfect balance of intellect without snobbery, passion without petulance, professionalism and integrity without haughtiness, and love without smothering.
Three random things about me…
- I have been diving on the two largest barrier reefs in the world;
- I worked as a color commentator in high school after a football injury squashed all hopes of an NFL career;
- my creative outlet is cooking.
