Jonathan spent the majority of his career as an Assistant District Attorney in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina, where he prosecuted hundreds of cases ranging from traffic tickets to violent felony offenses. As an ADA, Jonathan developed his courtroom skills, presenting evidence and argument to numerous judges and juries. Jonathan also served as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of New York, where he worked out of the Attorney General’s Lower Manhattan office. There, he represented state agencies in both state and federal civil litigation involving civil rights, Title VII, and medical malfeasance claims.
Jonathan is also an experienced military law practitioner, having served for well over a decade as a Judge Advocate General in the United States Army Reserve. In this capacity, Jonathan has provided legal guidance to all ranks of active military personnel and Veterans on issues ranging from complex federal regulations to small claims matters.
