Katherine Screen is a Legal Nurse Consultant supporting our medical malpractice group. She focuses her practice on medical malpractice, personal injury, and long-term care matters.

With over 15 years of critical care nursing experience, Katherine excels in analyzing a case’s medical facts and collaborates with our attorneys to develop legal defense strategies through voluminous medical records examination and creating concise medical chronologies.

Katherine began her career as a nurse at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, DC, working in the adult Surgical-Transplant ICU. She then worked as a travel nurse for several years, completing assignments in critical care units across the country. She then settled in Charlotte, working in the city’s Level 1 trauma center as well as the critical care float pool. Katherine began her career in the field of legal nursing in 2018 and has enjoyed the challenges associated with learning a role outside of the hospital environment.

In 2007, she received her Bachelor’s of Science in nursing from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She obtained her CCRN certification in 2009, and has maintained her licensure.

Katherine enjoys giving back to the Charlotte community through her involvement with the Women’s Impact Fund. She is a Tarheel fan and resides in Charlotte with her husband and two children.
